The park was founded around 1725 by František Adam Trauttmansdorff. At the end of the 18th century, the original French garden was transformed and expanded into a natural landscape park by Henry Rottenhan. The current owners have taken proper care of the park, restored the path system, renovated and adapted the park to its present form, as you can see it when visiting the castle.
Entrance to the castle park is possible only through the ticket office. In the park there is a rosarium with a large variety of rose species, an ornamental giardinetto with a fountain, an alpinium and a menagerie that will interest not only children. If you're lucky, you'll meet proud white peacocks on your walk, chat with parrots in the menagerie, and see raccoons, water birds, goats, donkeys, llamas and kangaroos.
