Style of architecture Baroque, First mentioned in 1388

In the castle grounds there is a castle park, which is stylized into a children's paradise. Here you will discover a fairytale land full of elves by the famous discoverer of fairytale land Vítězslava Klimtová, a hell with devils, a gingerbread house with a witch, Mike the cat, a mini zoo, a playground and a museum. The castle park includes a permanent exhibition of miniature Czech castles, chateaux and other historically interesting objects. Besides, you can stay directly at the castle in a renovated hotel.

The first mention of the manor house and farm in Vidovice dates back to 1388, when the owner was a noble (landed) family with the surname "of Vidovice". The first of them was Vavřinec of Vidovice, then the ownership passed to his sons Benes, Jakub and Jan. In 1894, the farm and the chateau were sold to the new owners, the Milners, who in 1904 /the year on the ground floor - today's museum/ carried out the largest and most substantial building alterations and since 1906 the mansion has been called "the newly built chateau with a park". Among the important owners of the manor or the chateau were well-known personalities such as Václav Stařimský, the free lord of Libštejn, Jan Josef Václav Radecký from Radec, the Brzorád family, Eleonora and Rudolf Kainz, the Milners, Dr. Prof. Blažek or the noble Berchtold family.

From the second half of the 20th century, the Czechoslovak Army - the air defence of Prague was stationed here. After 1990, the area with the castle was transferred to the municipality and 3 years later it was sold to a private company, which heavily indebted the castle and the whole area. On 18 April 2005 a new era of the Kunice - Vidovice Chateau began. It gained new owners who carried out its complete reconstruction, extension of the wing to the park, extension of the park, construction of the sports centre Na zámečku and opening it to the general public.

On the ground floor of the castle, in its oldest part, there is the unique "Village Museum of Kunice and its surroundings", which was founded in 1935 by Kunice native MUDr. František Oldřich. He came from the family of the mayor of Kunice Josef Oldřich. The museum exhibitions are built and originally described exactly as they were in the period 1935-1944.
